Having previously worked as a secretary and shoe fitter Helen was inspired to become a midwife whilst being a birth support partner for her friend.
When Helen decided that midwifery was the career for her she registered as a mature student at her local college and studied an access course before undertaking her midwifery training.
In the video Helen tells us that no days are the same and can change very quickly.
Helen is currently working with East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust as the midwifery-led unit ward manager.
