Our NHS 'Future Heroes' career expo has a new name, venue and agenda

Our 'Hertfordshire and west Essex Health and Social Care Careers Expo' will provide those attending a chance to discover careers in the health and social care sectors and help young people visually bridge the gap between what they enjoy doing and what they could potentially do as a career.

Clinical and non-clinical professionals working within our health and social care services will be supporting this event giving students, teachers, parents and members of the public an opportunity to hear first hand from the people doing these jobs.

Clinical career stalls to include:

•  Allied Health Professions (AHPs)

• Ambulance service

• Community & Social care

• Healthcare Science

• Midwifery

• Medicine

• Nursing

• Pharmacy

• Primary Care

• Mental Health

 And non-clinical career stalls include:

• Recruitment

• HR, finance

• Admin and business

• Communications

• IT

• Apprenticeships, Education and training

• Library services

 (please note these may change on the day due to work pressures)

As well as informative and interactive displays on the careers available, students will be able to find out the different education requirements and options to successfully land a career in their areas of interest.

Those attending the Expo will be able to:

• hear about the different opportunities into the professions such as apprenticeships

• get tips on how to make their college, university or job application a success

• hear about work experience opportunities

To get the most out of the event schools will be able to attend between 930-3pm, with time slots being either 930-12 or 1230-3pm. For the first time this year we are also offering an open session between 3:30-5:30pm allowing local college and university students, parents and students from all local schools and members of the public to attend

Please note students under the age of 18 years remain the responsibility of the school, college, university, parents/carers during this event.
